Controversial American Drew Noyes will be acquitted of charges of attempting to extort the bosses of the Thonglor Clinic in Jomtien, his spokesman claimed today.

In the video ‘Influential People and Men in Suits’ (14min.50′) Niels Colov of the Pattaya People is caught on tape saying he and another people were helping Drew Noyes in relation to his arrest for extortion. ‘Many people are putting their efforts together and I believe he will get out of this case.”
These people’s efforts have not yet manifested themselves in evidence given so far at the trial of Drew Noyes and Wanrapa Boonsu. I should state that the DSI were alerted to an ‘offer’ made to retrieve David Hanks’ passport from the Pattaya Provincial Court.
Recap: Of the three people suing this site Drew Noyes faces criminal charge of extortion and fraud in Pattaya Court and prior to his arrival was exposed by the Wilmington Morning Star as a man of myriad lies – with a judgement out against him (now for US$72,000) for selling bogus shares.
Brian Goudie, faces separate cases of impersonating a lawyer with intention to defraud. One case involves an American woman who handed over US$300,000 to have her son released from child sexual abuse charges and get him out of Nong Plalai jail.
David Hanks, the former owner of Masquerades brothel in Melbourne which specialised in ‘Asian Hotties’, has been charged with illegal money lending to Russians (at a rate of 60 %) in Pattaya. That was a DSI operation.

Contrary to your opinion I cannot edit posts on this site. I can merely allow or delete. To edit I have to scan and paste in a document. Your previous posts were edited in this way – the last one only by removal of the name of the clinic which Noyes has libeled. Clear? At this time I have no confirmation from Drew Noyes that you represent his views though you appear to be his spokesman. If however you can prove that you do and are not merely an invented character then you can continue to post.

In the world of criminal masterminds these three reprobates are the dumb, dumber and even more dumber.
We have Noyes, a serial grifter who has been exposed and caught every time he has tried his various scams. We have Goldie who has been caught every time as well. His crimes are particularly odorous as he stole from people and companies who had trusted him.
Hanks must be a total flake, firstly to claim Drew Noyes as your boss then claim to have Chinese mafia mates shows he is name dropping wannabe. He seems like a try-hard groupie attempting to play the hard man. The problem is when you’re a retired pimp with a liking for cosmetic surgery your hard man act loses its credibility very quickly.
Not content with making his money off the backs of women, he then joins that other reprehensible trade in ’Shylocking’ which is again exploiting vulnerable people.
Now if their deeds aren’t wicked enough, they then threaten and try to intimidate people who stand up to them and expose their wrong-doings. Their puerile threats are just like their crimes. They pick on the weak, vulnerable, or people who trust them. To claim to be a ‘community leader’ or successful businessman when your nothing but a two-bob conman is shameless. In many countries claims a case had already been decided before all the evidence had been presented would lead to an enquiry to see if there has been attempts to pervert the course of justice.
I wonder if the Pattaya court or the presiding judge is aware of these claims. No doubt there may have been lobbying going on but time will tell if anybody is really going to stick their neck out for Drew. Why Colov feels the need to get involved is another question.
It seems Drew has created his own Tyler Durden like in the movie 'fight club.' Stan the imaginary satisfied customer. You couldn't write better fiction than this.

On the contrary, in most countries cases can and will be decided before all (or any) evidence is heard. If the prosecution case is weak or flawed a good prosecutor will pull it despite any belief of the innocence or guilt of the accused, a judge will often dismiss a case if the prosecutor cannot make a case to answer and not bother hearing what the accused has to say.
Thailand is no different, judges do not allow cases on to and remain on their lists if it has no chance of succeeding, it is basic case management.
The few details of the case I have seen appear to revolve around the testimony of what was said by whom to whom by witnesses who have a vested interest in the outcome of the case, which will carry little weight but be highly amusing no doubt. The crucial evidence will come from the police as to what they heard and saw and the case will turn on the police evidence.
It is of course still possible that DN and crew will be so implausible that their testimony will be of assistance to the prosecution. Not being lawyers they may make simple blunders in evidence and procedure.
It is therefore quite possible to know a case will not proceed before a hearing is held as it is not in the public interest for the prosecution to proceed, there is no subterfuge or "influential people" needed and despite what some "lawyers" may believe judges are educated individuals whom are hard to sway through the posturings of people in suits, including Thais and foreigners.
Has the case actually been heard at all?
The initial reports would indicate he was caught red-handed in a blatant shake-down attempt. Stan's post implies the fix is in but given Noyes capacity for lying it may just be wishful thinking.
It will indeed be interesting to see what story the 3 stooges come up with, having Hanks as your star witness wouldn't inspire much confidence.
Given the appeals system this is a long long way to being finalised. I'm sure there will be enough material to keep this blog going for years.

As far as I understand it the case has not been "heard" as there has been no hearing. However that does not mean the court and judge have not been informed of the basic alleged facts of the case and of course the likely charges. The defence lawyers can talk to the prosecutors and form a view as to whether they will proceed with it, which makes criminals crow that they are getting off and "beating the system" but is often just related to weak evidence.
I doubt any "fix" has been made.
Judges in Thailand are educated people and would not be fooled for one minute by the posturing of fake lawyers and will get the latest gossip on the local legal scene. They also will have Internet access and, as their law degree was probably taught in English, would have no problem reading the Pattaya Rag and Andrew Drummond.
They would laugh until they fell of their benches at the antics revealed on the Internet. Judges are clever people and often have a sense of humour.
If you recall one recent case reported by AD it was apparent from the reporting that the judge knew who DN was and that he was a fake lawyer. DN has some front to stand in front of a judge pretending to be a lawyer, we will see if Goldie/ Gouldie / ex con Brian has as much when it comes to his cases.
The case is about half way through – a couple more policeman then Noyes/Hanks if he is around /Wanrapa have to take the stand. Actually many judges do not speak English. Nevertheless they do have a sense of humour. One judge when shown a picture of Noyes with most of the judges on Prince Rapee day said with a laugh 'I'm glad I am not in this one".
Yes, that old conundrum of how one can take a degree taught partly or almost fully in English at a University and not be confident to speak English. I have seen a number of Chula graduates at the British Council grappling with elementary spoken English after 4 years of lectures and exams in English, but that is partly the educational system and possibly a lack of exposure to people who use English every day.
The reading skills in English of Thai judges are more advanced.
