Here’s our favourite American entrepreneur and, it seems, culture vulture on the trawl for cash, but he had a secret that he does not even want his cameraman to film.
He is seen here talking to the then Minister of Culture, Sukamol Khunpleum, who later handed over the position to her husband Sontaya Khunpleum.
The occasion was the birthday party of Somchai Khunpluem in ChonburI better known Kamnan Poh. variously the Godfather of Saen Suk, the Godfather of Chonburi, the Godfather of the East.
Kamnan Poh was meant to be hiding out in Cambodia. He had been sentenced to 25 years for conspiracy to murder and corruption – but actually he was in Chonburi all the time with the full knowledge of course of local police and government and local government officials…The movers and shakers of Chonburi…plus more than a few in Bangkok.
Kamnan Poh was arrested last January, four months after this party, attending the Srinakirn Samitivej Hospital in Bangkok but he has still barely seen the inside of a jail.
The secret party was of course not much of a secret. It seems most of Chonburi knew.
Anyway our favourite American Drew Noyes is a man on a mission. He had taken his videographer Ivan Schiffer along to film him hobnobbing with the rich and famous, the people of influence I guess he referred to whenever threatening troublemakers.
When the Minister of Culture comes along he is anxious to present her with his plan for a Cultural Society for Pattaya which he says he’ll make international.
I’m not sure if this Tennessee educated American want to introduce the Grand Old Oprey to Pattaya, or indeed how you can make Thai culture international – er, its THAI CULTURE. The Minister seems confused too – but Drew presses ahead.
“Yeah um we’re starting a Pattaya Cultural Society to try and bring more cultural events to Pattaya.
“Could I give you a presentation so maybe we can get some financial support and get your backing about this. It’s going to make this more international.
“Can I interview you? Just for 2 minutes, do you have a minute? I’ll ask you easy questions. OK.”

‘(Ladies and Gentlemen, We are with Khun Veer an excellent Minister of culture’.
Later he grabs a private moment. We can’t hear what he is saying, but he does not want an audience. Drew puts his hand in front of the camera.
Noyes’ television career bombed after this and he later reported his videographer to police for overstaying his visa. Schiffer was subsequently deported.
He is currently on trial with his common law wife Wanrapa Boonsu for attempting to extort 7 million baht out of the Thonglor Clinic in Jomtien – in fact you might have seen this picture below. The trial also begins on February 4th of the happy couple, this time on a charge of cheating a Dutch businessman.

Anyway it seems that someone thought about culture for Pattaya sometime before Drew. Chris and Dr. Tewi Gleeson of the TLS Language School (A PLUG) are building this project outside the city. It’s coming along quickly now….the roof is going on..
So it could be said that Drew Noyes conspired with others to keep the location of the Mayor of Pattaya's father, who had been charged with murder, a secret?
Wouldn't be cool if Schiffer had video footage of Drew and Kamnan Poh together, when he was supposed to be hiding in Cambodia?
When Drew blocked the mike, he probably was reminding her of the percentage of kickback she'd get on any investment from the Ministry of Culture.
What we have here, is the difference between legitimate, community minded business people in Chris and Tewi, and a devious, two-bit grifter in Drew Noyes, who is only out for himself. Noyes is now as transparent as tissue paper and must be desperate for a big score. Nobody is biting I guess after his exposure here. With is large family and ex-wives Drew must surely be under financial stress.
Like Thaksin, he may have over played his hand with all these court cases. To stay out of jail he'll have to appeal if found guilty. To be found not guilty he'll have to spread around a lot of cash and that is never any guarantee you'll get off either. Then he'll need bail money and that won't be cheap. Yes, Drew probably needs a big score. Please keep us informed of his every move, keep your enemies close.

Well, since I was there also and filming this public clown on his trickster manouvers it is fair to those who carefully follow this intrinsic but detailed investigation work by Andrew to know what the conman did not want anyone to know…First I need to discuss it with Andrew in order not to interfere with the sequence of the editing of various parts of this footage and many others that will appear in due time. On the other hand the party at Kamnans Poh residence was public, open to all and anyone who sympathized with Kamnan Poh, the whole town of Chon Bury seemed to be there paying respect and support for their Godfather, Drew as usual was only interested in abusing the occasion for his own personal gain. He was over excited to have the opportunity to be registered among so many "influential" people envisioning making use of the material for his next victims. The interesting part of the game was the innovation in his method, tactics and modus operandi now he played it also on the interviewed making them believe that he was up to some big project, he believed they were easy prey so it was the right moment to get their support and money, there are some off camera remarks he made that will confirm this fact.( the camera was not filming but the mikes were still on. Even the mayor of Pataya was not spared, when Mr Ithipol hears what was on Drew^s mind and intentions he will finally understand what a son of a bitch that viper is.Drew knows well what is coming he was so worried about the tapes that he wanted one of my girl friends steal them for a sum of money, she told me right away after the offer and we were planning a sting operation when his Buffalo Bar mistress was supposed to come for the tapes: It only did not happen to save Nam the girl from further trouble. Let us though all be there at his trial on the 4th, I am sure it will be a day to remember. If he walks out the back door again instead of the front door where decent people walk out, be sure that it will not be to have lunch with the Judge,as he asserted last time he was convicted, that door leads to the underground jail cells. When bail is paid then he still leaves from the Jail House gate. It is also allowed for anyone to come up to the gate, let us be there with cameras in hand, he will probably not feel shame, if he had such sentiment in his devious personality he would had been gone long ago….
